Meet the artist
Hi, I’m Astrid — an Estonian-born surface pattern designer living in France. I find inspiration in nature and the small, everyday moments that bring us joy.
Every design begins with a pencil sketch on real paper, then comes to life either through traditional media like watercolor, gouache and/or ink, or through digital illustration.
I’m a self-taught artist who never stopped learning — always exploring and refining my skills through artist communities and inspiring mentors.
I draw inspiration from nature as well as from artistic movements I admire, such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and the Arts & Crafts style. I also enjoy the freedom of abstract art and modern design, which subtly influence my compositions.
Outside the studio, I’m a mother of two daughters and a lifelong maker (sewing, jewelry, porcelain painting). I also find balance through sports like tennis, Pilates, and yoga.
Creating patterns is my way of bringing beauty and warmth into the world — one joyful design at a time.
